Caricature Artist Jim Rehak Coming to Dover
Loockerman Street to feature musicians, food, and vendors!
DOVER, DE (June 3, 2019) Get a fun caricature of yourself or the kids during First Friday in downtown Dover on June 7th! Seaford artist Jim Rehak boasts a broad array of artistic skills, featuring plein air (outdoor) landscape oil painting, comic book illustration, portrait and caricature art, art directing, teaching and freelance court illustration. His recent award-winning work has been featured in group and solo shows throughout Maryland and Delaware. Rehak will be set up at The Loocke, 123 Loockerman Street from 5-8 p.m. and will provide free quick caricatures on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring along a momento of your favorite hobby, sport or other interest to go into the sketches.
The Downtown Dover Partnership continues to offer varied arts programming, now alongside D-3 (Destination Downtown Dover) who will be closing Loockerman Street and featuring live bands Brothers Stonesifer and Bad Ju Ju, as well as craft beverages, food trucks and vendors, beginning this First Friday from 5-9 p.m. Keep an eye out for buskers outside of shops, as well as musicians, poets and other artists in The Delaware Store, Dover Health Care Center, House of Coffi, Parke Green Galleries, and Simaron Pizza & Steak Shop. The Dover Public Library In Harmon Concert Series will be feature The Bratcher Project, an evening of instrumental smooth jazz led by Vaughn Bratcher, to be held outdoors at Loockerman Way Plaza. (In case of poor weather, it will be held at the library.)
First Friday Gives Back will return in June with a portion of all sales from 5-8 p.m. being donated to one local charity each month.
